"Gibson Square" Water colour 13cm x 17cm 1965 by John Godden featuring an excavation for the construction of the London Underground Victoria Line about 1965. This area of the small public gardens off Liverpool Road in Islington now contains a small square building in keeping with the gardens that allows access to a shaft and provides ventilation for the train tunnel.

Still Life on London Bridge Acrylic on board 44cm x 61cm features the construction works during the re-building of London Bridge over the River Thames at a time when the old bridge was dismantled and relocated in the USA and a new bridge was constructed. The two towers of Cannon Street Station can be seen on the right and on the left the smoking chimney is that of the coal fired Bankside Power Station now better known as the Tate Modern. Gravel Pit in the Lee Valley 43cm x 52cm Acrylic on board The exact location of this picture is not known and John was not able to place it on a map but it seems to have been one of several gravel extraction areas in the Broxbourne area within the Lee Valley.
